At Webmefy, we help eCommerce brands improve conversion and personalize the customer journey through tools like Klaviyo and Doofinder (our official partners). In this article, we explain how to integrate both platforms and make the most of website search data to create automated campaigns, advanced segmentation, and a more relevant shopping experience.
What does this integration offer?
Connecting Doofinder with Klaviyo allows you to use your website's search data to personalize campaigns, create advanced eCommerce segmentation with smarter segments, and activate automations that truly respond to customer behavior.
In other words: you no longer depend solely on transactional data (like "bought X"), but can understand what the customer is looking for, how they interact, and at what point they abandon the purchase process.
How the Doofinder and Klaviyo integration works
The connection can be made from:
-
The Doofinder administration panel
-
The Klaviyo integrations directory
From the Doofinder administration panel
Access your Doofinder administration panel.
In the left sidebar menu, go to Account > click on Integrations within the User section > select Klaviyo > click the “Connect now” button.
Follow the instructions to authorize the connection with Klaviyo.
Once done, the integration will be active from the Doofinder panel.

From the Klaviyo dashboard, log in to your Klaviyo account.
Go to the Klaviyo integrations directory > click “Add Integrations” > search for and select Doofinder > click “Connect”.
Follow the instructions to authorize the connection.
Once activated, Doofinder search events are automatically sent to Klaviyo once every hour and are available for use in segments and flows.
Events Doofinder sends to Klaviyo
The integration collects search behavior data from your store, which is converted into usable events within Klaviyo to personalize campaigns. The main Doofinder events in Klaviyo are:
- Doofinder Search & Discovery
What it collects: Search terms, location, date, and store.
Useful for segmenting:
Customers who are interested in a specific product or category.
Example:
Segment users who searched for "vitamin C" or "sandals", and send them an email with related recommendations, promotions, or new products.
- Doofinder Filter Usage
What it collects: Applied filters (e.g., size, color, price).
Useful for segmenting:
Users who have refined their search, showing clear purchase intent, but did not buy.
Example:
Users who searched for "sneakers" and filtered by size 38 and white color → you can target them with products that meet those criteria or notify them if there are new models or restocks.
- Doofinder Clicks
What it collects: Clicked product, name, URL, location, search term.
Useful for segmenting:
People who showed high interest by clicking on a product from the search, but did not complete the purchase.
Example:
Create an audience of people who clicked on products from the "summer 2025" collection and did not complete the purchase. Send them a reminder or exclusive benefits.
- Doofinder Add to Cart
What it collects: Product added to cart from search, price, location.
Useful for segmenting:
Users who have shown maximum purchase intent from Doofinder. Flows similar to an abandoned cart can be activated, but more contextualized to the search moment.
Example:
Email with reviews, limited discounts, or additional product information.
- Why is it useful for advanced segmentation?
Because you are not limited to what the customer bought, but rather you better understand what they are looking for, considering their behavior prior to conversion (or lack thereof). This allows you to:
-
Detect real unconverted interests.
-
Personalize more accurate recommendations.
-
Anticipate what the customer needs.
-
Improve the experience and increase conversion.
How to use these events in Klaviyo
Once the events are available in Klaviyo, you can use them to build advanced segments and automate highly personalized flows. Here are some examples:
- Smart segments
-
Customers who searched for a specific term (e.g., "collagen").
-
Users who applied filters without purchasing (e.g., size L, blue color).
-
People who clicked on products without completing the purchase.
- Relevant automated flows
-
Abandoned Search Flow: Target those who searched for a product but did not add it to the cart.
-
Recommendation Flow based on applied filters: Send them similar products.
-
Flow for product added from search: With reviews, FAQs, or exclusive benefits.
Webmefy Tip: If your store is multilingual or multi-store, you can filter events in Klaviyo by language or Store ID for even more personalized campaigns.
